A father once said to his son, "Find a job you love and you shall never work a day in your life..." This is absolutely right. You have been educated, trained and molded for several years before you finally choose a career path. There is a vast selection of jobs that suit every individual. In the midst of these, you need to assess yourself properly about what you really want before pursuing a course. Do you aim for a huge income in the future? Or would you prioritize the quality of work over money? Are you looking for a job that would take you abroad? Or do you need a career wherein you'll be your own boss? Career assessment conducted to graduating high school students aim to discover what each student wants as a job. Pursue you career with pride, open-mindedness, patience and joy. You are going to work with different kinds of people. You may have to meet the tiresome demands of the job. Problems you encounter from time to time may be within or beyond your control. There will be personal and job issues and dilemmas you have to face. Situations aren't always perfect, that's why it is important to anticipate these setbacks. Plan them through and make sound decisions. Cultivate harmonious relationships and improve your skills and attitudes. Struggle and aim for professional growth and career fulfillment. Oprah was rejected on television before and Michael Jordan was denied a position in his high school basketball team. But they did not stop at a point of rejection. Look at what they are now. What matters is that you strive to attain what you really want. It takes a lot of courage, effort, and faith to make it through from career fulfillment to success in life. Like Oprah and Micheal, if you wholeheartedly believe and aim for what you want, you will deserve what is rightfully yours.
A fulfilling career is not measured by the earned income alone. It is a combination of meaningful working relationships, a satisfying income and personal and professional growth. When you have these, your everyday career life is something done out of passion and pleasure instead of obligation. This is the true definition of career fulfillment.
